Promoting Awareness and Combatting Addiction

Our brains are our control systems, conducting everything we feel throughout the day. Feelings of anxiety, elation, or fear direct us through our lives, helping us avoid harmful situations and seek out those that are good for us. Unfortunately, at times our brain’s natural functions can be hijacked by an outside substance or behavioral pattern, resulting in addiction.

We created CCCASA.org to be a comprehensive resource for those facing addiction themselves, and for family members and friends supporting a loved one with addiction. On our site you can learn about the biological basis of substance addictions like drug and alcohol dependency, as well as their treatment options. We also cover less frequently discussed addictions like food addiction, Internet addiction, and gambling addiction. Addiction can be daunting and incredibly difficult, but we hope our site has given you the resources to make facing it a little easier.

We'd love to hear from you, so please contact us if you have any questions that our site wasn't able to answer.
